The PMI Application to take the PMP Exam

Completing the PMI application to take the PMP exam is a challenge in itself.

In this video we brief you on the things to keep in mind as you draft your project descriptions.

You need to convey the unique nature of the projects that you directed, in a convincing fashion. You need to broadly convey what you did on each project. You need to get into the details a little bit, so that the descriptions don’t look cookie-cutter generic.

If your descriptions don’t resonate with the reviewer, there is a much greater chance that your application will be singled-out for audit. An audit isn’t the end of the world, but it is a hassle to deal with, so you’d rather not go through it if you don’t have to. There is always a chance of a random audit and you want to be prepared to deal with that, but there is no need to go begging for an audit. Let’s make sure your application is as on-target as possible.

We can Help

For the students who work closely with us — attending a classroom course or a live virtual course, or purchasing one of our eLearning course bundles and attending a number of our study group sessions, we’ve been known to do a no-cost review of their draft project descriptions and provide feedback, to help ensure they are in good shape prior to application submittal. We make time for students who demonstrate commitment to the PMP exam prep effort and work with us closely.
